The event will bring together over 100 experts in proctology from around the world
The next 14th International Conference "Russian School of Colorectal Surgery" will be held in Moscow on September 20-22, 2024. It is the largest event for proctologists in the post-Soviet space, bringing together over 100 experts (leading specialists from Russia, the CIS countries, and far abroad) and about 1,500 guests from around the world.
Colorectal cancer is considered one of the most formidable oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Today, it has reached 2nd place in terms of mortality among oncological diseases. And in a situation where colorectal diseases come to the fore, the professional level of those who treat them - proctologists in all regions of Russia - is extremely important.
It is necessary not only to promote the growth of professionalism of medical workers, but also to increase the oncological alertness of doctors on the ground. The ability to suspect cancer, understanding risk groups and methods of treatment and prevention will certainly lead to a decrease in the sad statistics of mortality from colorectal cancer. This is especially important, given that it is curable in almost 100% of cases in the early stages of the disease.
In turn, ordinary people need to know that undergoing a colonoscopy at the age of 45+ is a basic examination that can help detect cancer at an early stage, when it is well treatable. And this information must be conveyed in all possible ways, including through doctors.
That is why the "Russian Society of Colorectal Surgeons" - a professional non-profit organization uniting surgeons specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases of the rectum, colon and anal canal, organized the annual "Russian School of Colorectal Surgery". The key goal of the event: comprehensive assistance in improving the professional level of Russian doctors by introducing participants to modern technologies and methods, exchanging knowledge and experience with colleagues, and obtaining new professional contacts.
School participants will hear reports from stars of modern proctology, including: Antonio Longo, Tsuyoshi Konishi, Jin Gu, Emre Gorgun. Also, 15 unique operations will be performed live.
